United States Mint - For more than 220 years, the U.S. Mint has produced U.S. Mint Gold coins as both circulating coinage and numismatic art with many U.S. Mint coins falling within both categories. Gold fell out of use in circulating coinage in 1933 and the U.S. Mint introduced a new bullion series in 1986.
